Since 1984, working with architects and private clients, John Weaver has honed his Arts and Craft principles with attention to detail; an appropriate use of space and sustainable materials; a tuned sense of proportion and rhythm and  combined these with his fine craftmanship. With fellow friends and furniture-makers Scott Workshops, in Brighton, was established over 25 years ago.  In 2017 Scott Workshops Ltd acquired  a 10,000ft mid century premises in Newhaven, along the coast. This now offers a fully equipped workshop and benchspace to many Brighton furniture makers.  Collaborating with these makers,  John Weaver Ltd offers custom-made furniture and architectural joinery to both its commercial and private clients. These include reception desks, feature walls, storage and display cabinetry for such as The Henry Moore Foundation, The TUC and The Old Royal Naval College.
Bespoke kitchens and bedroom storage are the mainstay of his private work.   Over 30 years of experience usually resolves the most appropriate use of space.
As a designer, drawing on mid century modern influences,  John is continually developing furniture pieces for small batch to mass production. Of these the Soft Mod is now available with The Futon Company.  In collaboration with Marque Furniture, also of Scott Workshops,  John developed his original Chest of Duhrer into a leading furniture range for John Lewis and Partners.
